Hiroyuki Matsuura is participating in the “Takashimaya Rose-Art Session” Matsuura Hiroyuki will be participating in the “Takashimaya Rose – Art Session”, a special program organized by the Takashimaya Co., Ltd. This exhibition celebrates the 60th anniversary of Takashimaya’s Rose Symbol by collaborating with 24 contemporary artists. Artists are asked to add their unique expression to the rose motif imprinted on a Japanese paper. It is Matsuura’s first attempt to produce a work with acrylic on Japanese paper, and he will be presenting 5 prints for this program.

The program will be held simultaneously in five Takashimaya stores. Each Matsuura’s prints will be shown respectively in these five locations. Detailed information of the prints will be shown on the Takashimaya webpage from September 10th (Mon), 10:00 am.　http://www.takashimaya.co.jp

Please note that each print will only be on sale at the location where it is exhibited. Sales starts from September 12th (Wed) 10:00am on first come first serve bases. For customers who wish to purchase from remote, sales via phone will begin from September 12th (Wed) 12:00pm. Please contact the sales representative located in each Takashimaya Department Store.

Collection of tote bags designed with the exhibited print works will also be on sale. A portion of the sales profit will be donated to Ban Rom Sai (Chiang Mai, Thailand), an orphanage for children who lost their parents due to HIV or have contracted HIV from a parent. This program will be featured in an art magazine “Art Collector” (September/No.42). Although, each venue will show one piece of Matsuura, we appreciate if you will have the opportunity to visit the nearest Takashimaya Department Store during the exhibition.
